Hello, I'm Ian and I'm a photographer

My background leads me to try to blend the artistic and the scientific, capturing images that are visually pleasing and can inform and inspire. Both the science and art of photography spark off of each other and I try to use this heady mix in my imaging.

My love of photography stems from my passion for the natural world, a passion that led me to study Biology at the University of Nottingham. Although I enjoyed my degree thoroughly, I continued to be drawn towards photography and eventually enrolled in a MSc course in Biological Photography and Imaging; I graduated last year with a distinction.

I was born in Nottingham, spent my childhood on the Isle of Lewis and my teenage years in Suffolk, went back to Nottingham to study and then returned to Suffolk. I love to capture the wildlife and scenery wherever I can, from the bustling city to the remote moor.
